Calling members of the A Team and other friends!!!

Dear Mng Vic,

How are you? Very busy and pre-occupied with your video productions, I supposed.

Last Friday, I found out from my cousin who I am sponsoring to come and work in Dubai that the ACES Library is already closed. I asked him to send me the scans of his passport and papers through the computer facilities of ACES but he told me it was already closed for weeks. He knows coz he drives a passenger tricycle and passes there every day.

So, two nights ago I asked Stau via YM chat what happened. It turned out that, Stau could no longer sustain the rent and monthly bills because his Taekwondo School have only 3 enrolees. He shuttles to manila every weekend to teach and referee tournaments to earn his living and now plans to relocate his family back to manila if things don't improve.

So what happens to the ACES Lib? He says he will be turning it over to Maam Esther in PSU. But these are mostly children's books. I don't know if a University would have a place for such a collection.

I realized we probably have not been supportive enough and expected to get a free ride of sort for our own project. Maybe if we could pay for the rent of the place which is only P3000/month then maybe Stau would reconsider staying until his business picks up again. I am willing to chip in my share if the A-team would pledge to support a sustained effort until say next school year when hopefully things improve. P3000 is nothing for us who are overseas (it's the cost of dinner for two – a luxury which i could easily skip) but it would mean a lot to the poor kids of Asingan. We can each adopt a month. I will be Mr. September. Sammy could be Mr October, etc. What do you say? Sayang naman kasi.

And then maybe we could send in our nephews/nieces/grandnephews/grandnieces on  taekwondo scholarships.

Or we can turn it over to a brgy school say, Rudy's where I'm sure it will be much appreciated. But I would like to turn over the computer and printer set to the Dupac Brgy Hall.

If you have any other idea, let us know.

Many thanks again.

Yours Truly,

Sonny

PS. You may want to forward this to the A-team.

#############################

It is my first time to hear re: this....

I am for Sonny's idea, I could not think of a better one..It is just a 100$ a year for  1 sponsor... Maybe we could include an honorarium for the person in charge...

Miggie and I of course as always, will do our part...and so with the other kind hearted A-Team members who havd shown such a great support for the project..

I hope someone else could take over soon..In fact another box will arrive there in Stauro's name 2 months from now...

christmas in August..(?)

Not really...It is just one of the old movie files I found, and since December is just around the corner ( started your Christmas shopping yet?) then it is sooner than you think..!!

Anyways, this is a segment which my late nephew took last Dec. 2003. I was the piano player. The choir mistress ( is this the right word ) is Juanita Orpiano.. Sorry I can not remember your last name, Juanita..it seems I am getting it already..

Anyway, enjoy the song..It is a good reminder to do your Xmas shopping early..JUST JOKING!!!

a short poem by yours truly

THE LONELY SPARROW

Last night I heard a sparrow,

Chirping from up my apple tree

Its sound was wrapped in sorrow

The bird was totally lost, it seemed to be

The rest were already asleep

In their own cozy nook and cranny

I just wondered where could they be

The siblings, the daddy or the mommy?

I wanted to help but what can I do

I could only sit there in vain

If I would climb the tree I'm sure it will just

Be frightened and fly out again

Little bird, little bird just stay where you are

You will be safe up on my tree

The God who looks out for little things

Will keep you warm in His company.

from Eliza Hufana Viray ( another Blogger in the family )

about the photo
Eliza ( middle ), her pamangkin at her left and Noemi at her right..Eliza's Mom is Miggie's older sister and Noemi's dad is her younger brother..Eliza and Noemi are still in Manila but Noemi's dad is already in California.

a pictorial of HIGH MUSICAL ON ICE will be featured next here in the AJ..

I am surprised how up to date the live shows are in Manila. That play have not arrived in Toronto yet. Among the current live shows in T.O. ( Toronto, Ontario ) are DIRTY DANCING ON STAGE and I WILL ROCK YOU..The stage revival of THE SOUND OF MUSIC (  written by Rodgers & Hammerstein ) will be shown very soon here in T.O. They have just selected the girl to play MARIA and the process took several weeks, just for that key part. Andrew Lloyd Webber ( the show's producer ) was in town recently to oversee the final selecting process. The lucky girl to perform MARIA  came from Vancouver, BC.---#

Her last statement in the video was "I hope I win.." and she crossed her fingers..!

This is a photo from a page of Etobicoke Guardian....The Guradian was also responsible for the production of the Video Clip...

Hi Manong Vic,

I liked the hawaiian wedding song. I never heard that song before.  thanks for posting.

We are enjoying here seeing members of my family again: the party was great, there were so many people.   Adam is always on the beach.  We have one more week to go.  I'm trying to set up a day so that I can see manong Elmer and his wife again.

Here are some of the photos of my nephew's party.  The dancers are my nieces(A.J., Lauren, Lovely and Jessica).  Jumar is the celebrant.  I will send some more photos later.

Regards to you and Manang.

Aloha/Mahalo,
Marcie/Bing

the lovely Hawaiian dancers...

Let's hear it for the little one!

"Lovely Hula Hands.." ( SEE COMPLETE TEXT BELOW )

Every little movement has a meaning of its own...

Lovely hula hands

Graceful as the birds in motion
Gliding like the gulls over the ocean
Lovely hula hands, kou lima nani e.

Lovely hula hands
Telling of the rains in the valley
And the swirling winds over the pali
Lovely hula hands, kou lima nani e.
Hui:

I can feel your soft caresses of your hula hand
Your lovely hula hands
Every little move expresses so I'll understand
All the tender meaning.

Of your hula hands
Fingertips that say aloha
Say to me again I love you
Lovely hula hands, kou lima nani e...

Now let us see if I could find an MP3 of the above song...:)

HRH- you did a good research on those meaningful Hawaiian names. Manong Wike/Vic- Mahalo Nui Loa for that classic Hawaiian Wedding Song. Kabagyan Sammy, Brother Archie- just let me know when you're planning to be here one day. I just have to be truthful, I don't have enough vacation hours as of now. I used most of them the past 3 months. Mafi Mushkila Sadik Sonny. It doesn't matter whether you're fluent or not in Arabic. Still, you're doing a fine job down there and here at the AMB. Well, SLU became my "hang-out" at one time because I was hooked into this law of magnetism- unlike poles attract each other. Confused? Please, let it remain that way. And yes, Manong Carlo Gancenia was so good of an athlete. It was just too sad he wasn't discovered by any sponsor or coach and nortured to live to his fullest potential. Regarding the 2x2s and 4x4s, I had tried those too. But I couldn't last long. I'm so glad, you, Manang Juliet and Ms Maui Girl, are very welcoming and generous as always. Of course! I'm here at your service whenever our dear kakailians decide to drop by and visit our islands. Last May, Manang Juliet, I and some of our good Asinganians were on Maui. Haleakala, 10,000 ft above sea level was just breath-taking! Ane, ading,I mean it literally and figuratively. Manang Polly, I thought I could handle the cold up there, but boiy, oh, boiy! I was wrong! Buddy Vidal and I were wearing shorts and T-shirts only. When we were up there, I couldn't even open my mouth anymore! My teetch were clicking involuntarily! How you like dat? Buddy and I ran back into the van and turned on the heater to the absolute temperature of hell (in exaggeration, of course!). Ah, I have said so much. I have to go now and I apologize if all you hear from me again next time is silence. So take good care now my beloved kakailians and keep on posting whenever you can and wherever you are. Me Ke Aloha Pumehana to all of you, meaning with the warmth of my love I leave to all of you.
