a short poem by yours truly

THE LONELY SPARROW

Last night I heard a sparrow,

Chirping from up my apple tree

Its sound was wrapped in sorrow

The bird was totally lost, it seemed to be

The rest were already asleep

In their own cozy nook and cranny

I just wondered where could they be

The siblings, the daddy or the mommy?

I wanted to help but what can I do

I could only sit there in vain

If I would climb the tree I'm sure it will just

Be frightened and fly out again

Little bird, little bird just stay where you are

You will be safe up on my tree

The God who looks out for little things

Will keep you warm in His company.
